Anubis, Horus, and a figure in blue robes have taken seats at an all-night diner, and the painting doesn't think this is strange at all. That's the whole point. The diner is timeless. The gods are timeless. The warm gold light makes them equals, and the dark street outside keeps the whole thing grounded in something almost melancholy. It's pop surrealism done with restraint. The palette knows exactly what it's doing. Collectors who live with this one won't get tired of it.
