It's Michelangelo by way of memento mori. The crowned skeleton in the green suit isn't just a skull, it's authority stripped to bone. Death offering creation, or perhaps creation arriving at death: the image refuses to settle. The classical painting technique borrows weight from the Old Masters, then turns it against comfortable assumptions. For collectors who want a wall that asks something of the room.
